Do you know that who
you are today is a combination of what your parents said to you, perspective of
friends about you, mindset in the environment, what you have said to yourself
and what God has said about you? Yes it is.
What you hear consistently for a while over and over again
enters into your heart and influences your decisions, actions and eventually
your character. So yes, your parents, your friends, your environment, yourself
and God have been an influence in who you are today.
Some of us have been told so many negative words by people;
some have encouraged us and told us we can do anything. Some haven’t said any
negative words, but they have discouraged us from taking bold steps. Some have
also counseled us so we don’t make mistakes while some have shared their own experiences
and made conclusions on the way life is, which has discouraged us from trying
harder.
What about the mindset from the environment; cultural
thinking and mental models which are prone to poverty than prosperity; mindset that
teaches greed and corruption as the legit way of accumulating wealth; a culture
that looks down on the young and treat the poor unjustly; a self centered environment
that teaches less or not on Giving. This cultural thinking we hear everyday subtly
influences who we become.
Maybe we even disagree with what people say about us or what
the environment teaches, what about you? What do you say to yourself? How do
you see yourself? Do you see greatness and speak it into your life even when
everything seems contrary? Do you believe you are blessed in every way, creative
to make something out of nothing? Or do you see yourself as a victim, suffering
and at the mercy of others? What you say to yourself influences who you become
in life.
Or do you listen to God your creator who knows the reason he
created you, for good and not for evil? Do you listen to the sweet words he
speaks all the time about you and do you believe it? Or do you just discard all
He says? Who you listen to matters a lot. It determines who you become.
So my friends take a good look at yourself and where you are
right now; you are who you listened to and it’s imperative you check well and
determine what to do next. Do you want to stay the way you are or do you want
to become who you are meant to be? Do you desire a change in your outcome? Then
your income is imperative. Your income (not money) is the combination of
thoughts, patterns and words you hear that shapes who you are within and
determines your outcome.
From all the places you hear as mentioned earlier, only one is
much needed for a better outcome and that is from God your creator. No man
knows your purpose, your reason for existence, only God knows. Even you do not
know until you ask your creator. Listen to what he has to say to you, ask him
questions he is ready to answer, obey what he says, and let him chart your path
so you can live life to fulfillment.
He has promised that in the midst of storms and confusion,
he will guide you out of it and saturate your life with peace. In decision
making, he will be the voice you need to hear to take a left or right. He will do
it because He is God and you are his most prized possession.
My friends take a new turn to the events of your life by
choosing to hear only what God says concerning you, believe it and life for you
will be a long and satisfying one.
