Your Best Companion in Dilemmas

I go into a dilemma some weeks ago when I walked down to the end of a very rough road and found two paths leading to two different places. One of which is meant to be home for me. Whatever becomes of my choice, I wouldn’t know until I get to the end of the road. Of course, the road seems similar but experiences on the paths differ.

From my standpoint, I would never know what I will face on any of the paths, so I must rely on my intuition, my inner voice, something within me(or someone If I may say) to lead me in the right path, someone who knows all that it offers.

As I stood, I found myself experience so
many feelings and thoughts clouding my mind and so many voices in my head competing to be a part of my final decision. A mixture of fear with a large dose of anxiety coupled with the dark skies already approaching and having limited time to get home.

Hmmm!!! Isn’t that what we all face on a daily basis? Having options and wondering which is best for us? Questions about our career; should I take the job or should I start my own business? Should I get married now or wait? Should I buy that dress or save the money? Should I invest in that business or not? These questions are inexhaustible but we still have to make them because they determine our final outcome, our future.

So, I decided on a path, following the inner voice within me. And as I started the journey, I faced many challenges. The path bumpy sometimes, smooth sometimes. But for every challenge I faced, the inward voice never left me, there was always a way out for me. Sometimes it was dark, but the strength I receive from the inner voice gave light to my path and I am sure never to stumble and fall.

There was also a time, the road seemed not to have an end, I saw another path out of the way and then I faced the same “dilemmic situation” similar to the one in the beginning and contesting with my innermost fears but the inner voice held me and led me back to the path. Not long after that, I saw the light ahead and made it home.
Now at home, I looked back and saw the path I walked, it was short, yet the process looked long. Also I saw something different; I was not the same person I used to be when I was at the beginning of the path. I had grown in hope, believing I will get to the end, I even saw myself Graced for another journey, ready to face more battles.
Then I thought what if I had taken the other path, where would it have led me? And then remembered the inner voice that guided me to take the first step and led me all through the path and I thanked God for it.

It’s the same for every human being. We are graced with an inner voice that is meant to guide us to walk in the right path and for making right decisions. Some call it the conscience, the truth is we all have it within.
It is therefore our responsibility to allow the inner voice to lead us and not how we feel in our emotions. The more we heed to the voice, the more we are led to greater accomplishments in our lives, the more we don’t yield to it and the voice is silenced, the more difficulty we face in our daily affairs.

Why don’t you start today? Why don’t you listen to your inner voice? No one has the time to sit with you telling you the best step to take for every decision but your inner voice will always be there.

Don’t quench it
Don’t silence it
Heed to it
Your future depends on it.

May this New Year bring to you a full measure of walking in favourable paths as you heed to your inner voice.
