Once a baby is born, learning begins. The baby learns to
suck on the mum’s breast without prior lectures. The baby learns to keep his or
her pupil stable on an object, and then learn to crawl, to walk,to talk, to
think. It is a whole long process of daily learning for the baby as he/she
grows.
If a baby doesn’t grow accordingly, there’s a problem.
The
parents are worried and medical attention is given to the baby to enable proper
learning and growth as it was meant to. The growth process of a baby takes a
lot of discipline, a lot of falling down and standing up, but they don’t give
up. They keep trying until they are good
at it.
How come as adults we forget that with every learning
process comes its discipline outline. We want to know but we don’t want to go
through the process of discipline which will include falling, making mistakes,
abstaining from what we crave for so we develop and get what we really need.
Nothing learnt comes without a process of discipline and
only those who love learning and want to know will love the discipline that
accompanies it. If you run away from discipline, if you despise correction and reproof,
if you disobey instructions, you can’t learn anything you are shortsighted and
myopic.
Just like a baby learns everything, so must we learn in
every area of our lives and every area requires its own discipline outline
which will differ in its time and process for learning or adopting the right
values needed to be instilled. We all need to draft out the required discipline
in every area of our life and to know the right thing to do and the right way
to live and behave.
See some of the categories below, you can add to it as it
applies to you.
·
Our
relationship with God: we need to be disciplined in praying and
having a secret place to commune with God EVERYDAY.
·
Family: this
is broken to three
§ Your
Husband/Wife: Discipline in the way we treat each other with respect, love and
submission
§ Children:
Treat your children, discipline them so they will not bring shame to you when
they grow up, love them with the right character.
§ Extended
Family: Be available for sisters, brothers, cousins, and in-laws, pray for
them, and don’t hide from them when they are in need.
·
Personal
development: Be disciplined in character development,
people management, speak the truth at all times , treat yourself very well,
speak tactfully and respond to situations maturely.
·
Purpose:
Discipline in the fulfillment of your purpose, seeing others and meeting their
needs.
·
Career: Discipline
in building career, business, working hard and smart, consistently and doggedly
to achieve laid plans.
·
Finance: Discipline
with your money. Give God first, give to others, save as much as you can, lend
to nations and NEVER borrow.
·
Relationships: Discipline
in the way you treat others, colleagues at work and friends, don’t slanders
others, gossip about others’ weaknesses or sins, speak well of others, see the
best in others at all times even in very bad situations, love others genuinely.
·
Health: Discipline
with your body, in what you eat and drink and the quantity, medical checkups
and regular exercise to keep your physical body refreshed at all times
When each of the
area of our lives takes the required discipline, we develop properly and reach
out to others, fulfill our purpose and leave on earth great examples for others
to follow. It won’t be easy, but when you love learning and adopt the
discipline that comes with it, you make out of your life what pleases God and
fulfils His will.
I pray for God’s strength on you as you focus on developing
through discipline.
Thank you so much for reading; Enjoy the new month on a
different level.
Ciao.
